Of the three areas comprising the Corporation of Delta, North Delta has the largest population. Originally founded in 1848 as Annieville, the original settlement on the banks of the Fraser River and the locale for BC’s first commercial salmon cannery along the river way back in 1870, it was later renamed North Delta.
